Coffee Table
Gio Ponti designed several variants of the D.555.1 coffee table. The re-edited piece was part of the furnishings of Ponti’s home in Via Dezza in Milan. It is made with hand-painted metal legs and grid. “The colours of the different segments of this table are arranged in such a way that their tone changes depending on what angle you look from. Manipulating different points of view in this way is a long-standing tradition that is common to artists and architects alike” (Gio Ponti, “Domus”, 1954).
